BRUNSWICK, NY – A 74-year-old man died this week in a major crash involving dump trailer in west-central Rensselaer County.
The accident occurred Thursday at 3916 PA-2 in Brunswick, which is about 13 miles northeast of Albany.
Police say that John P. O’Brien was driving a dump trailer carrying over 100,000 pounds of gravel when crashed into a house, became entrapped in the wreckage, and ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The house was listed for sale and uninhabited at the time of the accident.
Officials say O’Brien may have experienced a medical episode just prior to hitting the house.
