75-year-old Troy man fatally struck by vehicle in Latham

LATHAM, NY – A man was fatally struck while attempting to cross Route 2 in Latham on Sunday night.

According to News 10, 75-year-old Daniel Minehan was attempting to cross Troy-Schenectady Road near Swatling Road when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle.

Minehan was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. Police say he was not crossing in a designated crosswalk when the incident occurred.

The driver involved, 38-year-old Ammar Salih, remained at the scene. No charges are expected to be filed in connection to the deadly crash.
