COLONIE, NY – A young woman was killed in a Northway crash near the Twin Bridges early Sunday morning, NEWS10 reports.
18-year-old Megi Hamza of Guilderland was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla when it stalled in the center lane. An unidentified driver of a tractor-trailer had parked in the right lane to assist Hamza when a 72-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe changed lanes to avoid the parked tractor-trailer and struck the Corolla from behind.
Police say Hamza died after being taken to Albany Medical Center, while the 72-year-old man sustained minor injuries.
Officials continue to investigate the incident.
